Melon
Melon is the most produced and consumed summer vegetable in our country after watermelon. In addition to being consumed fresh, it is also used in pickles, jams, ice cream and cosmetics industries.
Melon is the vegetable that Turkey produces the most in terms of quantity, after watermelon. As of the end of the 1990s, melon accounted for about 10% of Turkey’s total vegetable production. A significant amount of melon produced in our country is produced in the Aegean, Marmara, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia and Mediterranean regions, respectively.
