Onion; it is selective in terms of climate demand. The length of the day and the temperature are two important factors that limit the cultivation of onions. Cool air is needed in the early development cycle of the plant. But for the head binding and the growth of the head, the temperature must be excessive. The average temperature in the early development phase should be 13 ºC. When the head starts to bind, its temperature should be 21ºC and 24-27 ºC for the head to mature. In early varieties, when the day length is 10-12 hours, head b crying begins. Varieties need a day length of 13-15 hours. Early varieties do not produce well in cold regions.
