Lemons are the fruits of these small evergreen, essential oil-bearing trees, which are cultivated in all countries with a temperate climate, and are very loved in our country. In regions such as the Aegean and the Mediterranean, there is a lemon tree in the garden of almost every house. It is one of the most well-known citrus species. Lemons make up 20% of our citrus production in our country. The homeland of the lemon is Northern India or southern China. However, we learn from the lemon kernels excavated in Nippur that the Mediterranean type lemon with high acid content also grew within the borders of present-day Iraq in the 3rd millennium BC. It is known that there is a connection between the Mesopotamian civilization and India. Dec. In this context, Interdonato and Cyprus lemon production is carried out in the Western Mediterranean Region. Interdonato lemon production is carried out in the southern part of the Aegean Region.
